The Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive, Part I by LJ Ssmith {review}

My rating: 2 2 of 5 stars

Synopsis:

The Circle’s power has lured her home. . . .
Forced to move from sunny California to gloomy New England, Cassie longs for her old life. Even so, she feels a strange kinship to a terrifying group of teens who seem to rule her school. Initiated into the coven of witches that’s controlled New Salem for hundreds of years, she’s drawn into the Secret Circle, a thrill that’s both intoxicating and deadly. But when she falls for the mysterious and intriguing Adam, Cassie must choose whether to resist temptation or risk dark forces to get what she wants—even if it means that one wrong move could ultimately destroy her.

Review:
I started this book because I found the series on Netflix and I LOVED it. I mean I absolutely fell in love with everything about it. I thought it was an awesome show and I was so upset when I saw it was only 1 season. So I immediately ran (briskly walked, I don't run! .... or in the computer world typed really fast!!) to OverDrive to see if I could borrow the books. When every book in the series was available that should have been my red flag. But noooooo, I was all yay!!! Look at me being lucky. Wooo!

What was I thinking?

OMG, no. Just no.

I tried folks. I really, really did. But no. These books....were NOT for me. How someone read them and thought "oh this would make an excellent tv show?" I will NEVER know. Granted they did. But by reading the books. Nah. And you know me. I LOVE BOOKS. I hate talking bad about them. I try to find something good about each one. The good about these? I ended up with one season on Netflix to watch and then leave me hanging. :(

Sheesh.
