Black Fire Blog Tour {review, excerpt, & giveaway}

{about the book}
Sometimes the dreams never stop, no matter what unimaginable hero waits by your side- no matter how beautiful your life has become. All Haley Webb ever wanted was a chance- a chance to live, a chance to die, a chance to love. Now her life has become so full of chances that she is blinded to anything else.

With a heart made broken, Haley has learned that the web she weaves can not be unraveled no matter who it snares. As the voice of her Nana grows silent and the beat of her heart sings stronger, all will wait to see her heaven. Where do you run when the devil comes back? How do you hide from the demons in your choice? As the smell of crimson and cinders suffocate her mind, how does she choose to stand by a love that’s meant to blacken her soul? Sometimes death is the only beginning. For Haley Dawn Webb, hell has come back to her little town of Hanging Rock and it brings a new face with it. Not every heaven is a choice. Not all choices are what they seem. Some fires, burn black.

Chapter 2: Two Faced
He moved to me, like fluid rain he lifted me tight and firm. My body quivered when he placed himself full against me, nothing left to the imagination in his embrace. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t think. Every inch of him, every muscle- my heart started up immediately. I drew in the air with short pouts of breath.
“I can,” his mouth spoke against my own, “have you.”

He licked his bottom lip, hesitant- always so hesitant. That single action melted my thoughts away. I clutched his neck tighter as the cool of his lips tipped my heated mouth, slow and careful- as if he were just having a sip; a taste of me. He moved in, like a burning freeze, his mouth covered mine and we kissed.

And like the first time every time, my belly knotted, my mind blanked, and my heart sang. Within seconds the kiss turned savage, almost painful. A taste was not enough, for either of us. He explored every inch of me with that mouth of his. He tasted my skin, my tongue, my neck…until I was gasping and clinging against him like an uncontrollable storm.

When I moved my hands to do their own exploring he growled and pushed me back down.

“I can have you,” he mouthed against my forehead, “you... can’t have me.”

{about the author}
Elle Moon is a country girl who calls West Virginia her second home because the blank pages of a new novel always remains her first. She is a wife to a non-reading but adorably supportive husband, a blessed mommy to an amazing son who knows already how to tell a good plot line, and an author who knows that the words of a good book can't be forgotten. Her debut novel, “The Death Drum”, released October 30, 2012 is the introduction to the Fifth Chamber Series. A reflection of a little imagination and the will of a Grandmother's love, “Lorabelle's Fireflies” is a teaser novella, while “Black Fire” becomes the second lead in the series with a full on addiction by its twists and insights. Both were released in 2013. “The Dancing Bones”, the last of the Fifth Chamber Series will debut sometime before 2014. An awkward dancer, a poetic arguer, and a lover of all things sweet- Elle Moon is a writer that believes everyone has the heart of a story. She's just willing to share.

{my thoughts}
Where do I start? I really don't know. I was so surprised by this book. Because the synopsis does not give away what is inside. I had not a clue what gloriousness (umm, yeah, I don't think this is a word...well it is now!) I was in for. Vampires, werewolves. OH YEAH! You've got a fight between good and evil. And you've got an amazing cast of characters that will make you fall so hard. You're going to be drawn into this world where nothing is as it seems. Around every corner Haley is struggling to hold onto just a little bit of normalcy and it never failed to surprise me what was ahead for her.

I was really scared to read this series because I know the author personally. Our husbands grew up together. What would I do if I didn't like it? I mean how could I ever look her in the face and be like oh yeah your book sucks. You have no clue how happy I was when I read this - I wanted to squeal. Not because I could be happy that I liked it, the story was amazing and I would never have to crush a delicate author's soul...but because I am going to be able to say one day when she hits the USA Today Bestseller's list I knew her before she made it big. :D

If you like books with mystery and suspense with a love story mixed NEED to get this book. I promise you that you will love it. ♥ I really need more!!

Also you need to remember this is a series - read them in this order! The Death Drum, Lorabelle's Fireflies, and Black Fire. The Dancing Bones will be out soon so look for it also!!!

Now run on over to Amazon. ;)
