Dr. Seuss' The Lorax Blu-Ray Combo Pack Review & FREE Activity Sheet

I have to admit, I'm not a fan of Dr. Seuss. *GASP*

Ok, I'm waiting for you to pick yourself back up off the floor.....

Great. Now I'll continue.

Here's the good thing. Despite my feelings, my kids love him. Go figure. I think it's one of those things like when you do something bad as a kid and your mother puts the just-like-you curse on any future children you have. I am forever destined to hear his rhyming words.

Anyways, they love him and were totally anticipating the release of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, which is set for today August 7th. I heard about this movie so many times from my daughter I thought I may go deaf.

So what's it about you ask?
Twelve-year-old Ted will do anything to find a real live Truffula Tree in order to impress the girl of his dreams. As he embarks on his journey, Ted discovers the incredible story of the Lorax, a grumpy but charming creature who speaks for the trees.
Blu-Ray 3D Combo Pack and Blu-Ray Combo Pack also includes a BONUS of 3 MINI MOVIES
  • Serenade -- Two Bar-ba-loots -- one love shy and the other suave and confident -- battle for the heart of their would-be sweetheart with the help of a colorful cast of characters, including the Humming-Fish and Swomme-Swans.
  • Wagon-HoTwo Bar-ba-loots take The Once-ler’s wagon on a ride they won’t soon forget.
  • Forces of NatureDetermined to scare The Once-ler out of Truffula Valley, The Lorax decides to create the illusion of ominous forces of nature.

I will admit ... it was cute. There were many funny moments in the movie. Laugh out loud funny. This is a great movie for any kid. Dr. Seuss sure knew what he was doing when he created all these characters. :)

  1. When I first heard about The Lorax being made into a movie, I was excited because it’s one of Dr. Seuss’ lesser known books. As always, his stories have a message and this one is important: take care of the environment. Then again, I don’t like all of his books but the kids sure do. Betty White’s voiceover is another reason why I wanted to see the movie. She is truly one of my favorite comedians and she’s so talented. I haven’t had the chance to watch it yet so I wanted to see it without buying it. The kiosk around the corner doesn’t have it available for rent until September 4th so a Dish co-worker suggested I try Blockbuster @ Home. It delivers the movies in my online queue straight to my door, which cuts down on time trying to find the movie I want to see. I requested it last week before the movie even came out and I got it yesterday. I get to spend the weekend with my kids watching this wonderful book come to life and that’s a great way to spend the last weekend before they head back to school.

Thank you for leaving a comment. I love hearing from everyone! :)
