Blondie
I got Blondie in 1997 the month after my Granny died. I was turning 18 and hadn't had a dog for 2 years since my pup that I'd had since I was 5, Meggie, passed away. I was having a horrible time at night sleeping. I missed my Granny and I was lonely. Mom and Dad decided I could have a dog for my birthday. I was so excited when they surprised me with the news. We went to the pound to look at what they had. Mom said the previous day she had seen on the news that had a liter of new pups that were suppose to grow up to be smaller dogs. When we got there we looked at those dogs and by the size of their paws...weren't too sure they'd be small. So we continued to look around. We all split up. I was starting to get discouraged when Dad came and told me he thought he had found the one. I walked around the corner and there she was - dirty and matted wagging her tail and looking at me with the biggest brown eyes. I immediately said yes. It was love at first sight. She's been with me through it all - getting married (yes, she attended the wedding), having two babies, and basically growing up. She turned 14 the beginning of this month. I know she's getting old and I can't stand the thought of losing her. She's my baby too. I love her more than words can describe.
