I am constantly trying out new products just to see what is out there and if it's good for you that's even better. Some of my friends, the Dixons, over at Walking Therin, The Daily Planet and A Pondering Heart have talked about using Tropical Tradition's Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. So when I got a chance to receive a product for free and try it out, I jumped at it!
Coconut Oil can be used for a multitude of things. As a substitution to other cooking oils, a moisturizer for your skin, it helps your body in digestion, and more.
After I received my huge 32 oz. jar, I asked my friends on Facebook where to start. The one thing they all agreed on was popcorn. So I popped me a big pan of popcorn and it was DELICIOUS! I'm a big popcorn eater and this just made it better.
I also used it for a moisturizer on my skin. It worked pretty well. I have had dry skin for awhile (since babies! and winter hasn't helped any) now and it helped a lot. I just didn't like the greasy feel. But I did have pretty skin. :)
I was also told that it was good to take a couple tablespoons to speed up your metabolism and aid in weight loss...but as the product hardens in cooler weather I just couldn't get it down that way. I'll stick to cooking in it.
This is some great stuff. I was so glad I was able to try it. If you are thinking of going organic or trying to live a healthier life, this is one easy step toward your goal.
