Homeschool Memoirs - Routines

A routine? Me? hahahahaha Yea, right! I would LOVE to be one of those people that have everything planned down to the last minute. Unfortunately, my life just doesn't allow that. Not right now anyways. With a hubby that only goes to school in the morning and a newborn, poor Gracie gets the short end of the stick when it comes to a routine. But I don't think she minds too much. I know what I want to get accomplished each day -
Monday: Handwriting, Reading, Numbers/Math, Social Studies
Tuesday: Handwriting, Reading, Numbers/Math, Science
Wednesday: Handwriting, Reading, Numbers/Math, Bible
Thursday: Handwriting, Reading, Numbers/Math, Art/Music

but have no time limit on it. If I'm doing it at 8 in the morning or 8 at night as long as I feel good about it, that's all that matters.

  1. though i would LVE to live by a strict schedule, my kids and my life needs a loose routine. it took a few years but I found a way to feed my need to have and make routines and my kids need for freedom & structure.

there is no routine with a newborn thugh, LOL. I remember those days@

  2. LOL....I'm glad I'm not the only one that laughed when they asked about routines! Oh dear...I'd love to have them but so far, it hasn't worked out that way. I'm hoping for insight from others on this subject!c

  3. Ahhh I don't think anyone is getting the short end of the stick without a routine. Yes, routines and schedules can be good, but they can also be binding and staunch creativity. We all need to learn to "go with the flow" at times.

  4. I'm with you on this! I've been putting off doing this assignment for that reason. I think I'll be brave like you and just admit that we don't actually have a routine, at least not yet. :)

  5. LOL! This post made me chuckle. I too wish I could be more organized. Some would say I am already organized, but to me it's not enough. If it were just my son and me, I would be more organized...But I would never trade in my 6 charming daycare children.
