{about the book}
For Tracey Rooks, life with her grandparents on a Wyoming farm has always been simple. But after her grandmother's death, Tracey is all her grandfather has. So when Eagle Elite University announces its annual scholarship lottery, Tracey jumps at the opportunity to secure their future and enters. She isn't expecting much-but then she wins. And life as she knows it will never be same . . .
The students at Eagle Elite are unlike any she's ever met . . . and they refuse to make things easy for her. There's Nixon, gorgeous, irresistible, and leader of a group that everyone fears: The Elect.
Their rules are simple. 1. Do not touch The Elect. 2. Do not look at The Elect. 3. Do not speak to The Elect.
No matter how hard she tries to stay away, The Elect are always around her and it isn't long until she finds out the reason why they keep their friends close and their enemies even closer. She just didn't realize she was the enemy -- until it was too late.

{my thoughts}
I grabbed this book for review when I saw it was by Rachel Van Dyken. I had read two books of her previously - Tear and The Bet. I loved them both and thought I would enjoy this one as well. I was mistaken. I didn't just enjoy it. I FELL HEAD OVER HEELS for these characters. Oh my word!! Seriously. I want to gush and go on over it but I have to contain myself as to not give anything away. I hate spoilers. So let me take a deep breath and see what I can tell y'all.
When I first started I was a little put off by Nixon. Nixon has a personality that makes you want to smack him. He's arrogant. Rich. Pretty much a jerk. And then you keep reading. :) Trace is sheltered and I swear I wanted to shake her at one point and say stick up for yourself. And then you keep reading. :)
This book is choked full of people that you want to get to know better, like Chase. I really, REALLY want to know Chase better. ;) And some you want to hurt. Van Dyken's writing made you feel emotions. I felt like I was a part of what was happening and experiencing it first hand.
This is the first book that I have read that had this plot. Again no spoilers but it's unique. You may have seen it on tv but not in books. I LOVED IT! I can't wait for the second book, Elect, to come out. I am SOOO ANXIOUS!!
And my final words to you are.... #TeamChase
