{my thoughts}
This book was a very quick read but that doesn't mean it's lacking in story. Just the opposite. It was a really good modern take on the story of Hosea and Gomer from the Bible. It was a little slow starting off and this book touches on some very sensitive topics such as sex, drinking, and drugs. After I was able to really get into the story I was pleased with the way that the author shared the message of learning to trust in God and believe that He knows best for your life. It's a hard one for all of us but when you toss is complications like Gabe & Dee encounter...it's even harder. Good book.

You can get a copy on Amazon for $4.99

Wait for You by J Lynn {book review}

{about the book}
Some things are worth waiting for...

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago--an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe--please God--make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn't need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she's building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing...

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that's just so... so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet...

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she's has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for...

{my thoughts}
I freakin' LOVED this book!! It was wonderful. Ohhemmmgee! It was such an emotional story. At times I wanted to smack Avery and be like do you see this hot guy in front of you, the one who wants you? Don't be stupid. But oh my when they were interacting with each other it was epic. And the supporting characters...hilarious. When I was reading it I was laying in bed with my husband and there was one scene where Avery and her friends were discussing "cookies" and I burst out laughing. My whole body was shaking and of course Robby looked over at me like I was losing my mind. I tried to explain it to him but unless you were reading it...you just couldn't understand. It was truly one of the best books I've read lately. It made me laugh and cry and I'm telling you to go buy it now. Like right now! Why are you still waiting??

Go to Amazon now and grab your copy, then come back here and tell me what you thought!

And for your enjoyment here are 2 fan made videos. They pretty much rock. ♥

{my thoughts}
I was so excited to win a copy from Book Addicts Not So Anonymous and Theresa Mummert. I had heard wonderful things about it and I wanted to read it right then. Sadly, I had to wait til the release date. That's the spoiled ARC reviewer in me. ;) And I've gotta say...this was one of the absolute best books that I have read in a long time. It made my heart feel happy. It had it's moment of sadness but it also had a sweet love story and characters that made you root for them to make it.

I do want to say there is no act of suicide in the book, so if that is something that bothers you don't think you have to stay away from it because of that. I don't do spoilers but you'll understand the name of the book after reading a little of it.

It's just an amazing book and you need to get it. Amazon has Suicide Note on Kindle for only 99 cents.

{my thoughts}
These books were awesome! I am totally in love with Lilli and Aidan. ♥ As you can see I only have the first two books listed above because the last book is not out yet. It should be released in May I think. These books made me laugh out loud. Aidan and Lilli have a wonderful dynamic relationship which is not only hot but sweet and funny. The supporting characters add to the storyline and really make the book "real" to you. I can not wait until I can read the last. I think it will be EPIC!

Don't Tell by Mercy Amare {book review}

{about the book}
I could be surrounded by a million people, but I would still feel alone. I smile on the outside, but inside I feel like I’m slowly dying. I cry out for help, but nobody sees me, at least not the real me. They see a façade, a mask that I put on to hide the pain.

I pretend that I’m normal, but really, what is normal? Maybe what I’m feeling is normal. The hurt, the disappointment, the loneliness… it could be all just be a part of life. Maybe I will never know what normal is.

I put on long sleeves and makeup to hide the bruises, but they only mask the outside. What happens when I can’t carry my burden alone any longer? What would happen if I told somebody the truth?

Don't Tell is a YA Contemporary Romance about love, forgivness and hope.

Find author Mercy Amare on Facebook.

{my thoughts}
I really liked this book. I did. It had great characters and a good storyline. I wish it would have been a little longer though. It was only 71 pages and I felt it was a little rushed. Everything happened so fast. I would have liked to have seen a little bit more story. The topic of this book is very serious one that can't be taken lightly and I think the author shows the strong feelings the people have in dealing with such problems. Regardless of its length, it was a great read and I would tell anyone to grab a copy for a fast read.

It's available on Amazon for only 99 cents. Click here to purchase yours now!

{Release Day} Music of the Heart by Katie Ashley

This book looks awesome! I can't wait to read it. :)

{about the book}
For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?

Dream big or go home, that's what they always say, right?

Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder {Book Review}

{About the Book}
I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.

Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.

Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

Nell Hawthorne is in love with her life-long best friend, Kyle Calloway. Their young love is invincible and life is full of promise; then one night Kyle dies suddenly in a tragic accident and Nell is forever changed. She meets Kyle's older brother Colton for the first time at the funeral. They both struggle to move on with life as best they can. Years later, they meet again in New York City, and Colton realizes that Nell has never really gotten over Kyle's death. She seems to be harboring a deeply rooted pain, a heavy weight of guilt and regret. He knows he shouldn't get involved, but he can't help himself. Trust doesn't come easily for either of them, and they both have demons. Together, they learn the purpose of pain and the meaning of healing, and the importance of forgiveness.

Excerpt from Falling Into You:

It was just a single sob at first, a quick, hysterical inhalation. Then a second. And then I couldn't stop it. Tears, a flood of them. I felt the sand grow cold and muddy under my face, felt my body shuddering uncontrollably. He didn't tell me it was okay. He didn't try to pull me against him or onto his lap. He kept his hand on my shoulder and sat silent next to me.

I knew I wouldn't be able to stop. I'd let go, and now the river would flow un-dammed.

No. No. I shook my head, clenched my teeth, lifted up and let myself fall down hard, sending a spear of pain spiderwebbing out from my arm. The pain was a drug, and I accepted it greedily. It was a dam, stemming the tide of tears....

Full length (80,000 word) New Adult Contemporary Romance:
**Mature Content Warning** 17+ for language, and adult situations. HEA ending.

{My thoughts}
I won this book the other day and I was over the moon! I had been wanting to read it and had heard a lot of good stuff about it. I was told to plan on having  a lot of tissues ready.

Now I'm going to say I didn't cry as much as I thought I would. I think since I was so prepared I had kind of talked myself out of it.

But that it not to say that this wasn't a good book. It was GREAT! I really liked the sweet way that Kyle & Nell fell in love....but it was definitely a young love. Nell & Colton are a whole other story. Their lives are rough and real and painful, very painful. With each other they are learning to heal. It's beautiful in their own screwed up way.

If you were wondering if you should read it...I say yes! Get it!

Amazon has it on Kindle edition for only $3.99.

Music Monday: Turn the Page by Metallica

I like when the rock and roll books that I read give you a playlist of their "songs". While I was reading Battlescars by Sophie Monroe there was a scene at the beginning where Jake & Aubrey are meeting for the first time. Jake asks Aubrey what her life song would be, she doesn't answer but he tells her his is Metallica's Turn the Page. I think it's the perfect song for him. Monroe nailed it!

So that has been stuck in my head and it's a change from what I normally post. Enjoy!

Battlescars by Sophie Monroe {Book Review}

So yesterday I contacted the author of Battlescars and basically begged and pleaded for her to allow me to do a review of her book. I laid my heart on the line to Ms. Monroe.

Ok, so maybe there wasn't much begging. Or pleading.

But I had heard good things about Battlescars and all my friends were reading her and liking her Facebook page. I wanted to be in the cool club too.

I got a message back from her this morning. She offered me a review copy. YAY!

She sent it to me and since I didn't have anything else super important to do - I did what I do best, read!

Ohmygoodnessgracious!! Eeeeeek!

Can you tell I liked it?

Before I go into why I did....let me tell you a little about the book first.

{About the Book}Aubrey Thompson is a twenty-three year old flight attendant for her dad’s small commercial fleet. She’s a sarcastic smartass that has no problem telling you where to go. She also despises rock stars…but that’s all part of the story. Her Granny Jean is spy and will have you laughing out loud.
In comes Jake Parker, the twenty-five year old lead singer of Battlescars. His reputation is the untamable bad-boy. He’s completely “balls to the wall” in everything that he does. Two days after returning home from a month long tour across Europe he gets a visit from Bruce, an executive from the record label. He informs Jake that Battlescars is going back on tour for three months. What everyone doesn’t know is that Jake is worn down and sick of the same old shit.
His record label hires Aubrey’s dads company to fly him around for the last minute tour. In order to keep her dad's company afloat they will have to learn to play nice. When Jake first meets Aubrey she refuses to even acknowledge his existence. He sees her as refreshing and a challenge.
Both of them have some pretty heavy scars from their pasts holding them back. Can Jake get Aubrey to let him in? Or will she shoot him down based on his outlandish reputation? Will her fear of getting hurt again keep him out for good?
Are the two of them a match in heaven or hell?

So what did I love about it? Ummm, everything? Ok, I know that's not a great answer....let me try.

This book had me laughing so hard. My husband kept looking at me like I was crazy. The corny one-liners ... the way she wrote them into the story...it was excellent. And I cried too. It was an emotional story. Both Jake & Aubrey had a tough past they had to deal with. You could really feel the flirty, fun way they fell for each other. It was also hot. There was a lot of chemistry between the two. Overall, it was just great. I am very excited to read the next book about Aubrey's friend Piper.

You can grab a copy at Amazon for $2.99 in Kindle format. So what are you waiting for? Go. NOW! ;)

Waiting For You by Shey Stahl {Book Review}

{About the Book}

Bailey Gray is tired of her perfectly planned life. Everything about her life has been organized and lived out to the expectations set of her parents. She is the class valedictorian, has perfect grades, the perfect friends, a perfect boyfriend, basically perfect life...or so everyone thought. That's when she realizes the path planned isn't always the path chosen.

On graduation day she makes a decision. One that changes everything she thought she knew about her intended future.

On a whim, she runs away with the town rebel, Dylan Wade, in search of the unknown.

Dylan Wade isn't looking to run away from anything.

He knows what he wants as he's been waiting on it for years.

On a journey to find the unknown, they discover a friendship they once knew along the open highway and have not a care in the world. Between the yellow and white lines of the heated summer asphalt, a spark draws them together as Dylan's past and Bailey future try to ripe them apart.

Could it be that Dylan and his GTO are exactly what her perfectly planned life needs?

This book contains adult language and sexual situations. Not suitable for anyone under eighteen.

{My thoughts}
Have you ever felt so much pressure you just wanted to run away from it all? Bailey Gray has and she does. Lucky for her she picks a really hot guy to run away with. Dylan has been her next door neighbor for years and as they grew up they drifted apart. But there was always a little part of Bailey that stayed attached to Dylan, no matter how different their lives were. So on graduation day when she has the chance to leave with him...she takes that chance. From there the story goes off! It was awesome!

I get very involved with my characters' feelings as I read a book and this one really put me through the wringer. Woooo boy. I will openly admit to getting a bit giggly, blushing a lot, and feeling like my heart was going to break.

Bailey's naivety and Dylan's bad boy musician persona is so appealing. Stahl really knew what she was doing when she created these folks!

These are the best kinds of books. You have an emotional attachment to the people and you wish the best for them but you really don't know what's going to happen. Will they get their happily ever after or will it all come crashing down around them when secrets are revealed?

You can purchase a copy of Waiting for You on Amazon for only $2.99.

If you read it please let me know what you think!

TWISTED is LIVE! {Book Review & Giveaway}

Remember when I shared with you the cover reveal for Twisted by K.A. Robinson and said it would be out at the end of March? Well guess what?! I have some awesome news! It released earlier than expected and is LIVE! on Amazon.

EEK!

I knew she was going to submit it yesterday evening so I stalked Amazon and her fan page to see when it was live. Sadly, last night when I went to bed it still wasn't. This morning I woke up to it on Amazon and I was like all WOOOHOOO! There is was...the long awaited sequel to Torn. Ok, so it was only like a month...but it was a loooong month.

I checked my Amazon gift card balance and was happy to see I had $4.78...so that would cover the cost of $3.99. Now I have 79 cents left. Oh the horror....I won't be able to buy any books until I get one. I have one coming so I hope it gets here soon. I'll be having withdraws. Any authors out there are more than free to send me some books to read. ;)

Anyways, I bought it at like 7 this morning. And I'm done. Yes, already.

It was amazing!

I posted on her page that I didn't think it could get any better than Torn. I was so wrong. Twisted took Drake & Chloe to a whole other level. I really just don't have to words to explain it. I loved the way that Robinson wrote this book. There is nothing about it I would change.

If you haven't read Torn yet, read my review here and then you can purchase it here.

And then grab yourself a copy of Twisted

You will not regret it!! After you read it, let me know what you think!

But don't go away just yet...K.A. Robinson is kind enough to let me offer you a chance to win an e-copy of Twisted. One lucky reader will win an e-book copy of her book!

Ordinary (The Anything But Series) by Lindy Zart {Book Review & Giveaway}

{About the Book}
There are three kinds of people in the world: those who are alive, those who are undead, and those who can see the undead.

Honor Rochester found out she's one of the three, and it's not the one she would prefer to be.

She can accept her fate and live as is decided for her. Or not live at all.

{About the Author}
I've been writing since I was a wee lass. I was reading before that; possibly while still in the womb. Don't think about that too much. I started out with short horror stories and poetry. I was terrible at it. The poems not so much, but the stories were awful. I decided to finish a book (and I DO mean finish--I'd started plenty throughout the years) when I was in my mid-twenties (so not that long ago because I'm young and will forever stay that way). Again, not my best work.

But that's the thing about writing; it improves with time. (It's also a good thing to know your work can't possibly be any worse than it was when you first started.) What I love most about writing is having people tell me how much they enjoy my work, how my writing touches them, makes them feel intensely. Bringing a reader to laughter or tears is a wonderful feeling for a writer, and no, I'm not sadistic. *insert evil laugh HERE* It means I got them to feel, to respond to something I created.

Also, I just like to make stuff up and put it down on paper. I have an endless supply of stories in my head; lots of stuff to share with the world. Happy Reading!

Follow her on twitter.com/lindyzart, 'like' Lindy Zart Author Page on facebook.com/lindyzart, check me out on goodreads.com/lindyzart

{My thoughts}
I found this book when I was browsing for something to read. And it was free and it sounded interesting. So I grabbed it up. I was able to read this very quickly and I was really sad when it ended. Things were just getting good! I sure hope that she writes the second one soon. I need to know what is going on!!

The story starts off with Honor seeing what she thinks is a classmate being kidnapped. But what she doesn't know is that in the next few days everything she thought she knew is about to change. Life will never be the same.

One of the great things about this book is that it gives different points of view. Some of the major characters get to give their take on what's going on around them. I like that. Because so many times when you read a book you just know what one person thinks. Lindy Zart has allowed us into the minds of  four very different people. One of my favorites is Ryder. He's a little rough, but I think he's going to end up a good guy. I'm hoping so. I guess we will see!

You can purchase this book on Amazon for only $2.99

But wait...don't leave just yet! I also have a giveaway. :)

I'm giving away one e-book copy of Ordinary to one lucky reader!

A sweet, mishap-filled journey into marriage, motherhood, and ranch living ensues, and Mallory is filled with both the wonderment of love and the insecurities of change. But what she can’t shake is the unease she feels around her husband’s new boss, Jack West. Jack’s presence–and his mysterious past–set her on edge, and when hints of a scandal emerge, Mallory finds herself seeking answers . . . and comes to realize that the middle-of-nowhere home she wasn’t sure she wanted is the very place she’ll risk everything to save.

{My thoughts}

I really liked this book. It has a love story as well as intrigue. The main character, Mallory was a little difficult to connect with at first. I admit I didn't like her. She was very, ummm, the word I'm looking for I think is uptight. But as the story progressed I started to understand and see her in a different light. I can imagine that it would be very hard to suddenly have everything in your life turned upside down. If you like books with a little mystery this will be perfect for you!

Music Monday: I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift

I'm not that big of a Taylor Swift fan. I mean I can listen to her but I wouldn't actively seek her out but Matthew and Gracie love her. So I've heard this song a lot lately....and it's like forever in my head and I like it? Yeah, I like it. It's super catchy.

Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
You flew me to places I've never been'
Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I've never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground

And now it's in yours. You are welcome.
