Review: Lakeshore Christmas

Maureen Davenport lives for Christmas—and there's nothing more magical than Christmas on Willow Lake.

The prim librarian is finally getting her chance to direct Avalon's annual holiday pageant, and she's determined to make it truly spectacular. But it might just require one of those Christmas miracles she's always read about.

Because her codirector is recovering former child star Eddie Haven, a long-haired, tattooed lump of coal in Maureen's pageant stocking. Eddie can't stand Christmas, but a court order from a judge has landed him right in the middle of the merrymaking.

Maureen and Eddie spar over every detail of the pageant, from casting troubled kids to Eddie's original—and distinctly untraditional—music. Is he trying to sabotage the performance to spite her? Or is she trying too hard to fit the show into her storybook-perfect notion of Christmas?

And how is it possible that they're falling in love?

Doesn't this sound wonderful? That's because it is!! Susan Wiggs' is one of my MOST favorite authors and her Lakeshore Chronicles series is my fave of hers. When I read her books I feel as if I am in the story. The characters are real to me. That's the kind of books I go for...I want to feel like it's happening, not like I'm just reading it.

You're probably thinking but this is a series, I've miss out. NO! You haven't. That's one of the things I love. You can pick up any book and start right up with it. Now I'm not saying don't go back and read the others because that would just be silly. I wouldn't want you to not get reading enjoyment when you could. :)

Seriously, I love a good Christmas book. And this one so far is the best this season. Yes, I know I have awhile to go. I usually start reading Christmas books in September or October ~ whenever they come out. :) But it really is wonderful. I laughed and cried and just felt good when I was done....

But then I was a little sad. My Lakeshore family is gone until another book comes out. I guess I'll just have to go reread the ones I have and then the Christmas one also.

So take my advice and if you enjoy a good Christmas book, go get a copy of this one. You will LOVE it! You can get a hardcover copy from Amazon.com for only $11.85.
