Nature's Child is holding a Beat the Heat Summer Contest!
The winner will be awarded a bumGenius 3.0 Starter Kit: 18 diapers, diaper sprayer, a dozen cloth wipes, and a bottle of odor remover.
All you have to do is answer one question and you're entered. Then you can receive multiple entries by answering another question. So easy!
You can check out the official rules and enter here. Deadline to enter is July 31 and a winner will be selected by August 10.
I didn't use cloth diapers with Gracie....and I probably won't with this baby. But it's something I think is great and I would do if I had lots of money to pay up front. Buuuut when you have family helping out by buying disposable diapers, you don't worry about it too much, and you use what you have.

Signs & Seasons
Ok, so I have lots to share today. :)
Here's another contest.
I saw this other contest on the same blog. It's for a book called Signs & Seasons. Astronomy from a biblical stand point. I watched the video and this is very cool! I'm definitely excited about it.

To enter this contest: Go to the Classical Astronomy blog and view the trailer for Signs and Seasons. You will need to leave a comment there about what you thought of the trailer. THEN copy your comment, go to the HSB Community blog and paste it into the comments for this contest. Sounds like a lot, but it just takes a second. And if you win - so worth it. :)
Ends July 1st so enter now!!

pregnancy update
I hadn't given you all any updates regarding my sugar test and all the other stuff going on with little fella. So here goes
1. Well, I had my 1 hr sugar test and it came back elevated. Soooo I had to take the 3 hr test. It came back ok - just barely - or that's what they said...it was 107 the last test they gave me. I didn't think that was high. But they said they wanted me to go to a nutrition class anyways and follow a 1800 calorie ADA diet.
2. They measured my amniotic fluid and said it was good - that it was right in the middle where they wanted it. I think they said it was measuring 11cms? They didn't do weight on him this time, but will next time. He looked so much bigger.
3. Dr. said they normally start the NST (non-stress test) at 32 weeks but will go ahead just to be on the safe side (I'll be 31 weeks Tuesday). I will go 2 times a week. Mondays and Thursdays - but I'm going to try to get them on days I have doc appts. Ack! I'm trying not to think about gas right now...*sigh*
4. I asked them if everything continued smoothly when they were going to do the c-section. She said she will do it at 39 weeks. So my due date is the 26th of August (also Robby's 1st day back @ school). The dates she gave me depending on when she can get the OR will be Aug 19th or 21st. I'm getting SO excited!
Overall, I'm basically healthy and baby is growing. Things are looking good!

Still Here
I have been the worst blogger ever! Geez, I couldn't even remember when the last time was and when I looked at my blog I was SO ashamed. I'm going to try to do better, but life doesn't seem to want me to share my thoughts. :)Lots has been happening and this post might be a little extreme. haha Don't say I didn't warn ya!
Gracie keeps me busy. I've been trying to homeschool her the past few months. She fights me so bad. I know she wants to learn, she just gets frustrated when she doesn't catch on immediately. She has learned quite a bit despite the fact. We are focusing right now mainly on her ABCs and writing. She seems to like that best. I did purchase a curriculum from KidSparkz. It's a preschool yearly curriculum, but it has so much stuff that we can add upon. I got it half off. Go me! Anything to save money. I won't start on my feelings about gas prices. *rolling eyes* Also I joined a website just for homeschooling moms - The Homeschool Lounge -I've already connected with some great moms who are right there with me in the teaching adventure.
I have really debated on whether or not this is the right decision for us. And I just think it's best for right now. DH has tried to be supportive, but he is so conflicted about what homeschooling will be like. It's not like I want to keep her to myself and not let her grow up. I just want her to get the best education that she deserves. As the pregnancy progresses and the due date grows closer, I've worried a bit more about the time I'll be trying to spend with her on schooling and the time I'll need for him. I know that she's going to have a big change as it is adding a baby to the family...so please keep me in your prayers that my mind survives this! DH finished up this year of school and he will be around more to help with everything...so I am definitely looking forward to that.
And while we're on the subject of the baby. He is growing and my pregnancy ticker says I have 79 days left. :) But that will change once the doctor and I are able to decide when exactly she will do the c-section. I'm excited and nervous all in one. I just hope to have a healthy baby. That's what is nost important - I can deal with the rest. I had my 1 hour sugar test last week and it came back elevated, so I go Wednesday for the 3 hr test. Ugh! Hopefully, it was just a fluke and this test will be ok.
Well, I warned you this would be a long post...did you even make it to the end? If so thank you! (((HUGS))) I guess I'll hush for now. I'm going to go try and stay cool. The heating and air pump is acting up...hopefully tomorrow the piece will be in and then the 90 degree weather won't bug me. LOL
Have a wonderful blessed day!
